One Man's Trash is Another Woman's Treasure...
The idea of working with wooden historical windows came to me as I was driving along a back road on Wadamalaw Island and passed a stack of old shot gun shack windows set out for trash.
Later that day, I was peering out of the window onto the sunset view of the spartina marsh stretching outside of Mimi's Resturant on James Island and my mind turned back to those windows. I went back and loaded up every window. I started experimenting with the idea of recreating the view of the marshland using dried floral arrangements and local grasses - even washed up shells and fallen butterflies and dragonflies have adorned these weathered frames. The windows have been a big hit in my beautiful historic hometown and now it's time to share them with the world.
Please have a look around and don't hesitate to call me if you'd like a custom frame or would like to purchase one of my ongoing creations. No two are alike...
